Day 6 - Newberry Volcanic National Monument, Benham Falls

Emma keeps watch on our back porch on the Mirror Pond. There's beavers in there.

Creativity amidst the Benders - must be popular - unfortunately the box was empty!

Dark clouds hover, but dump no rain.

Coastal clouds make it over the Cascade Range - but add only a little drama to the day.

Russ and Emma tackle the universal access path at Newberry NationalVolcanic Monument.

Fallen ponderosa pine needles create fabulous patterns.

Godzilla casts his angry shadow on the Deschutes. Seems we run into Godzilla fairly often on our travels.

The Great Horned Viper has come out to see what the excitement is about. I guarantee it's not the hokey-pokey.

Hey, what's that over there?

Coloured stems, not yet resplendent in green, lay along the river sides.

That crazy back eddy is all that stands between wayward kayaks and the slot that leads to Benham Falls.

Now that we've seen the Benham Falls, it's a race back to the parking lot - it is coffee time after all.
